For projects that require the highest temperature resistance, Weidmann high temperature components are designed to withstand 200 °C + temperatures for long periods of time. Non-cellulose materials are used to provide this capability, while maintaining dimensional stability and dielectric strength.
Nomex® components are used in hybrid power, traction, mobile, distribution and dry type transformers usually together with paper parts as complete high temperature hybrid insulation kits.
Drawn angle rings and caps are produced for smaller transformers.

Cylinders serve to divide oil gaps into several, smaller oil gaps using the so called barrier technique. With this method a substantially increased strength is reached at given clearances.
Depending on the required stabilty, cylinders are either manufactured from Nomex® 993 or calendered 993 (NBC).
These rings with narrow flanges are a special version of an angle ring or cap and are used as edge protection in the winding.
Edge protection rings are made of Nomex® 993.
Metalized screens are used to increase partial discharge inception voltage, to avoid capacitive coupling between high and lower voltage windings and to reduce the capacitive transmission of interference voltage.
Alutherm shields for high temperature applications are made of aluminum foil tapes that are laminated to Nomex® 411.
Spacing elements are used to separate the high voltage from the low voltage winding as well as within the winding where they form cooling channels. The result of the different characteristics required, depending on the size of the equipment, is a variety of products that were developed to serve the purpose. These products are clackband, corrugated paper, duct strip, ladders, strips and spacers.
Clackband
Clackband is made of small parts of Nomex® 994 strips individually welded to a carriertape of Nomex® 410 or E56 paper.
Duct Strip
Duct strip is made by welding Nomex® 994 strips in a regular distance to Nomex® 410 or E56 paper of usually the same width as the strips.
Ladders
Ladders are made by welding Nomex® 994 strips in a regular distance to two or more supporting Nomex® 410 or E56 paper tapes.
Strips
Strips are made of Nomex® 994 and are produced in rectangular, bevel key, or T-form shapes.
Spacers
Depending on the application and the thickness of Nomex® 994 spacers are either milled or punched.
Washers and block washers provide mechanical support and insulation from winding to ground.
High temperature washers can be manufactured from any kind of Nomex® grades, depending on the mechanical requirement.
