The IEEE Fellow is a prestigious recognition conferred by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) to its members for their significant contributions to the advancement of technology in various fields.
Weidmann Electrical Technology has long supported employees participating and contributing to the IEEE association. However, this is the first time a Weidmann employee has been elevated to Fellow status, a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments are deemed fitting for the prestigious grade.

Thomas A. Prevost, VP of Technology and Innovation, Americas region, has dedicated a large amount of his time, knowledge, and experience to working throughout his career with the IEEE Power and Energy Society. He has contributed to the development and maintenance of standards and guidelines for the design, testing, repair, installation, operation, and maintenance of transformers, amongst other components used within electric utility and industrial power systems.
Being named an IEEE Fellow is a significant achievement and reflects a high level of professional accomplishment. It is a recognition of both individual achievements and contributions to the broader technical community. As a newly elevated Fellow, Tom will continue to play an active role in the IEEE and continue to contribute to the advancement of technology, mentoring others and participating in various leadership capacities within the organization.
