Employee Spotlight: Aldo Ayala

What is your role at Weidmann, and how long have you worked for the company?

My role at Weidmann is General Manager for the Saltillo plant in Mexico, and I have been with the company for over seven months.

What other roles have you held, and in which industry sector(s)?

In my career, I have had the opportunity to hold various positions within the Automotive Industry, ranging from Quality Engineer and Quality Manager to Production, Operations, and Plant Manager.

During the 20 years of my professional career, I have learned many different processes, including several molding procedures, stamping, thermoforming, plating, and manual assemblies, to name a few.

What drew you to Weidmann / what do you find interesting about the company?

The initial quality I perceived about Weidmann was their unique culture. This was the first time I experienced being recruited as part of a succession plan. Weidmann identified a critical position within the organization and developed an action plan for the changeover. From the beginning, the company invested in a two-year process to make the transition right; this caught my attention immediately. I also like Weidmann’s professionalism and willingness to take the company to the next level.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love spending time with my wife and family. I have two daughters: a 5-year-old and a 9-year-old. We like making small, quick trips around Mexico, visiting nearby cities and tourist places.
